grabbable and draggable halftransparent menu (drag slowly, please)
(experiment - might not work in all browsers...)
- drag it slowly to work properly (you click/grab it, drag it, and click/let it go again)
- the menu is built alike other basic vertical menues (see there for details) with one main menu item and two hierarchies of submenues which all are set to opacity 70%
- the menu is absolutely positioned until the user drags it
- an onload action ‘drag floating box’ is inserted in the header to drag the MenuLayer
- an image ‘drag me’ is put into a layer named ‘dragmebox’ next to the menu
- to make clear the user what he can do
- and that he really drags the menu at that spot and not at the menu because he would always get the submenu displayed while dragging...
- I've put the MenuMachinemnu itself into an own layer that I've nested inside the ‘dragmebo’” layer, it is positioned x=39px to align with the dragme image
- such the user can always ‘take the menu with him’ or put it at a place on the page not disturbing when viewing e.g. a large image
- such a menu is very small, but contains all links, and let there be enough space for pagecontent :-)
- note: transparency might not displayed in some browsers, those show the full colour)
(for demonstration only - no pagelinks added to the items)
