basic menu centered with PNG images -
orientation: mainmenu horizontal/submenu vertical
I put the left menu further down on this page so you can better see the centering effect at the topbanner image and MenuMachine menu
resize the browser window and watch the menu move to the center
(the menucontaining layer/div has simply a width of 100% and a centering alignment)
the main menuitems were created as .png images (as a timesaver the submenues are only dotted 'textitems')
png images allow transparency for photographic images (like you make them in e.g. Photoshop against a nice halftransparent background). Unfortunately IE 5.5 and higher doesn't respect that png format... www.outactions.com has released the PNG Image Support Action for GoLive in June 2004, that plays some trick on IE and forces it to display also png images fine!)
now we can have transparent images in menues against changing backgrounds and letting an image menu position relative against changing backgrounds like in this sample
pgn images are large in filesize, so carefully consider what and how much to display as png on a page
(for demonstration only - no pagelinks added to the items)
